Razer makes some of the most badass gaming mice on the planet. They build high-quality hardware that’s fast and versatile. And unlike most peripheral manufacturers, the company’s primary focus is gamers, not office workers.

In most of our previous reviews, we’ve looked at mice for specific games, like League of Legends. In those reviews, we had to prioritize certain functions. For example, for CS:GO, we looked for a high DPI and fast polling rate to maximize twitch reflex performance.

This time, we’re looking for the best all-around Razer mouse, so we’ll be looking for a balance between multiple criteria. Before we go any further, let’s talk about those features.

DPI and Polling Rate

DPI stands for “dots per inch”, and it’s a measurement of how precise the mouse is. The higher your DPI, the further your mouse will move on screen for the same movement of your hand. At very high DPI, spinning your character in a complete 360 is easy.

However, high DPI has a downside: it makes it more difficult to make accurate shots, particularly at a distance. The best gaming mice have a “sniper mode” button to quickly drop DPI levels when you need an accuracy boost.

Polling rate is a measure of how many times per second your mouse updates its position with your CPU. For example, a 150 Hz mouse will update its location 150 times every second.

This is a controversial measurement. On the one hand, a high polling rate gives as much responsiveness as possible. On the other hand, it can slow down your CPU. If you own a high-end PC, it’s generally worthwhile to use a high polling rate. That said, anything over 500 Hz is going to provide a boost so minimal that it’s unnecessary.

Our friends at How-To Geek break these concepts down in more detail here.

Comfort and Grip

Comfort might sound like it’s not worth your concern in a gaming mouse. But try playing League of Legends all weekend with a mouse that’s too small or too large, and you’ll think differently.

Not only does an uncomfortable mouse make it harder to play, it can also lead to cramping, swelling, and chronic injuries.

Now, a lot of this comes down to the rest of your setup. For example, if you have high wrist support, a fatter mouse is better. If you have low or no wrist support, a slimmer mouse is better.

Another consideration is handedness. If you’re left-handed, you’re going to have fewer options than a right-handed person. Some mice are ambidextrous. We’ll even review one! But if you’re buying an “ambidextrous” mouse elsewhere, be careful. Not all ambidextrous mice are ergonomically designed for both hands.

Extra Buttons

The most noticeable feature of most gaming mice is the cluster of extra buttons near the thumb. These provide a convenient way to access frequently-used keys. For games like Fortnite or Rocket League that use a handful of inputs, these are mostly unnecessary.

However, for games like World of Warcraft or Starcraft II that use a lot of inputs, a few hotkeys can be a real lifesaver. Clicking an extra button instead of needing to hit Shift+5 to select your space marine response team can make all the difference against a Zerg rush.

Razer provides a cloud-based app for rebinding buttons and keys on all of their hardware. It’s lightweight, loads quickly, and will get your custom buttons mapped in minutes.

Wired or Wireless?

Just a few years ago, wired mice were universally faster, due to the limitations of wireless technology. Nowadays, some high end wireless mice are as good as their wired cousins. With low to mid-range mice, wired models are still superior, although the gap is closing daily.

A wireless mouse is more portable than a wired mouse, and can be used further from the tower. On the other hand, you’ll need to change batteries from time to time.

Basically, this is a matter of personal preference.

Razer Atheris

If you prefer to use a wireless mouse, the Razer Atheris is a top performer. This little monster is adjustable up to 7,200 DPI, which makes it more than fast enough for any reasonable configuration. By clicking a button behind the mouse wheel, you can cycle through the five DPI settings, as low as 400.

This mouse connects both via wireless and through Bluetooth, which gives you the freedom to connect it to a variety of devices. It’s ready to run on Windows or Linux right out of the box. Using Razer’s online software, you can adjust the polling rate as high as 500 Hz.

The Atheris has a small, ambidextrous design, and fits well in smaller hands. It has five programmable buttons for customizing your rig, and its batteries last for a whopping 350 hours of continuous use.

If you have bigger hands, you may want to think about using a different mouse. The Atheris’ small profile can be uncomfortable if you’ve got paws big enough to palm a basketball.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

The Razer DeathAdder Elite is a 16,000-DPI streak of lightning that can give Sonic the Hedgehog a run for his money. If you prefer a more realistic speed in the 1,000 DPI setting, or a 100 DPI sniper setting, the two buttons directly behind the scroll wheel can be programmed to jump to your two most frequently-used settings.

The polling rate on the DeathAdder Elite is also adjustable. Using their online app, you can set it as high as 1,000 Hz. As we’ve already mentioned, anything over 500 is dubious at best. By going from 500 to 1,000, you increase your maximum response time from 2ms to 1ms, but double the load on your processor. But if you’ve got a serious next-gen gaming rig, it’s nice to have the option!

The buttons on the DeathAdder Elite are ultra durable – rated for 50 million clicks. The seven programmable buttons give you enough macros for even the most demanding high-level raids.

Be careful with the scroll wheel on this mouse. While it works well, it’s very close to one of the DPI buttons, and it’s easy to accidentally change your DPI if you’re rapidly zooming in or scrolling up.

Razer DeathAdder Chroma

At up to 10,000 DPI, the DeathAdder Chroma offers enough sensitivity that anything extra would be redundant. You can use their software to set it as low as 200 DPI, or use the buttons on the side of the mouse to cycle through sensitivity settings.

This mouse really shines when playing on a larger mouse pad with lower DPI settings. It offers an impressive acceleration sensitivity of up to 200 inches per second, which means you can use tiny motions for pinpoint, 200-400 DPI accuracy, while still turning quickly when you’re getting shot at from behind.

This mouse is built with the same 50 million click-rated buttons as the rest of their DeathAdder line, so it’s highly reliable.

The downside of the DeathAdder Chroma is the shortage of extra buttons. There are two. If you map them for DPI changes, you’re left with none. Depending on what kind of game you’re playing, that may or may not be an issue.

Razer Naga Trinity

The Razer Naga Trinity adjusts from 200 DPI up to 16,000 DPI with a pair of buttons that are positioned just behind the mouse wheel. Whether you need high DPIs for your new 4K monitor, or lower settings for pinpoint sniping, this mouse has got you covered. As with all Razer mice, you can adjust the polling rate with their online app.

The main attraction on the Naga Trinity is the removable side plate. It ships with three: a basic, two-button version, a seven-button version, and a truly impressive twelve-button version. If you spend a lot of time going on WoW raids, you’ll have enough macros that you won’t need to look at your keyboard once.

The fat body on this mouse makes it a solid choice for people with big hands. People with smaller hands will probably prefer something that has a slimmer body.

Razer Mamba Elite

The Razer Mamba Elite is adjustable from 200 DPI up to 16,000 DPI. Two small buttons behind the wheel allow you to quickly cycle your sensitivity up and down. You can also use Razer’s app to set the buttons to specific DPI settings, and to adjust the polling rate.

This mouse features 9 programmable buttons. In addition to the normal buttons, the scroll wheel, and the DPI adjustment, you’ll find two buttons by the thumb and one each by your pinky and your ring finger.

The Mamba Elite utilizes the same buttons as the DeathAdder series. They’re rated to last for over 50 million clicks, so there are no concerns about durability. However, the scroll wheel is a bit looser than the wheel on the DeathAdder series, making it a little bit flimsier than those models.

Razer Lancehead Tournament Edition

The Razer Lancehead Tournament Edition utilizes a lot of the same hardware as the DeathAdder Elite, so it has many of the same features. The DPI is adjustable from 100 to 16,000 DPI, with the two adjustment buttons located behind the scroll wheel. You can also get up to 1,000 Hz of polling speed.

This mouse is designed to be ambidextrous. For once, left-handed gamers can use the same gear as us right-handers. However, there are some ergonomic issues that go along with this decision. There are two extra buttons on each side that are positioned for your thumb, but they’re poorly located for hitting them with your fingers.

The Lancehead Tournament Edition features a total of eight programmable buttons. It utilizes the same main buttons as the DeathAdder series, rated for 50 million clicks.

Razer DeathAdder Essential

The Razer DeathAdder Essential is a more barebones version of their DeathAdder line. It offers sensitivity settings from 200 up to 6,400 DPI, and features two programmable buttons by your thumb.

This mouse is more affordable than most of Razer’s line, and they put most of your money into durability. The DeathAdder Essential is small, slim, and built like a brick, with tough buttons that are rated for 50 million clicks.

Of course, the small size has some disadvantages. The two thumb buttons allow you to change DPI settings, but if you set them to any other control you’ll be locked into whatever your default DPI is.

That said, 6,400 DPI is plenty fast enough for any gamer, and the durable build makes the DeathAdder Essential well worth the price.

Razer Mamba Wireless

The Mamba Wireless is a wireless variant of the basic Razer Mamba. It offers up to 16,000 DPI, which you can adjust as low as 200 using the buttons behind the mouse wheel. A polling rate as fast as 500 Hz gives you an edge in just about any duel.

And it’s wireless. The built-in rechargeable battery lasts for up to 50 hours of continuous use. It also ships with a USB cable, so you can plug it into your PC for recharging when it’s not in use. 50 hours may not seem like a lot, but it’s longer than any session we’ve ever played!

The Mamba Wireless features seven programmable buttons. The main buttons are just as durable as most of Razer’s lineup, built to last for 50 million clicks.

Verdict

At the end of the day, we felt the DeathAdder Elite was the best of the bunch. The Atheris is a great choice if you prefer a wireless mouse, and the Naga Trinity gives you more macro options than anything else on the market, but the DeathAdder Elite is the most complete package.

It doesn’t require a battery. It offers an impressive DPI range. The grip is firm but comfortable, and the seven programmable buttons give you enough versatility to perform like a pro at any type of game.

Your reticle moves over your opponent’s head. You click your mouse. Suddenly, your reticle is in the air, and what should have been a perfect headshot is sailing into the distance of a pixelated sky. Yep, you’re suffering from mouse jitter.

Mouse jitter – sometimes called mouse stutter – happens when either your hardware or your software fails to properly track your mouse movements. The end result is that your mouse doesn’t move straight, doesn’t move consistently, or jumps randomly around the screen.

Let’s see if we can help sort things out.

Is it Your Hardware?

Now, we’re going to assume you’re using a good gaming mouse, like this one. If you’re not, buy one. Gaming mice have a much higher scanning rate than regular office mice, so they’re far less prone to lagging or stuttering.

Assuming you’re using a good quality mouse, there are a couple of other things that could be going on.

Your Mouse Could be Dirty

Yeah, we know. This is like someone in tech support asking if your computer’s plugged in, but these things can be easy to overlook.

Check your mouse’s laser to see if small hairs or other debris have gotten trapped. Even if you don’t see anything, give it a quick blast of canned air just to make sure.

There Could be Radio Interference

Don’t laugh. This is a real thing.

If you’re not interested in reading a lot of technobabble from Intel, here’s the long and short of it: some unshielded USB cables and devices can cause interference with wireless mice. Try disconnecting any other peripherals you have connected, and playing with just your mouse and keyboard plugged in for a while.

If you have a new, cheap keyboard, the keyboard itself may be causing the problem. So please, for your own sanity, get yourself one.

…Or is it Your Software?

Software problems can be more difficult to tease out than hardware problems. Let’s look at a few of the more common misfires that can happen inside your computer’s software.

Try Updating Your Drivers

Don’t use Windows to reset your drivers. Sometimes it works, and it can even be a good idea as a last resort. If your mouse came with an installation CD, don’t use that either. Why? Because the drivers on that disc are almost certainly out of date, and you need the newest ones.

If you own a gaming mouse, go to the manufacturer’s website and look up drivers for your model. Follow their installation instructions, and see if your stuttering continues now that you’ve got the latest and greatest.

Now, if you can’t find your drivers on the manufacturer’s site, you might be stuck using Windows to find them. For information on how to do that, and how to fix a few other possible Windows 10 mouse issues, check out this video from Windows Report:

Try Turning Off Display Scaling

This can be a problem if you’re using Windows with a newer monitor.

On 4K rigs, Windows 10 offers the option to upscale text in the UI, in order to make it readable. This can cause some weird things to happen in games, and send your mouse zooming randomly across the screen.

To fix this, right-click on your desktop, then click “Display Settings”. Move the slider to 0 percent, hit “Apply”, and restart computer. Keep in mind that this is only an option on 4K screens.

Conclusion

Now that we’ve looked at the potential causes of mouse jitter, we hope your problem is solved, and you can get back to gaming.

Do you have a cringe-worthy mouse jitter story to share? Or a potential solution that we missed? Let us know in the comments!

Redragon M601 Gaming Mouse Review

After blowing out all your money on the latest graphics card or the strongest CPU, you probably realized you didn’t save any money for your peripherals. When looking at the big-name brands like Corsair or Razer, you realize that you can’t even pay that much for a mouse. Well fear not, because we’re going to introduce you to a mouse that will sit well within your budget!

About the Company:

For those who don’t know about ReDragon and are skeptical about the price, ReDragon is actually a respected gaming peripheral manufacturer that specializes in the low to mid-tier budgets. In fact, this US-based company has been around since 1996 and began making gaming peripherals since 2012. If you take a look at their Amazon sellers page, most of their products are highly rated with thousands of reviews. They even have a website with clear contact information, driver downloads, and manuals.

They have also been featured in a few tech youtubers’ channels, most notably, TechSource. While they aren’t as market dominating as Razer or Logitech, their products still attract many buyers because of the affordability.

Features:

This mouse has 3 programmable buttons: two side buttons, and a scroll wheel. It’s sporting a sensor that goes as low as 800 DPI, and as high as 3200 DPI– which is a respectably DPI range given the price point. It also has an eight-piece weight tuning system, with each weight weighing in at 2.4 grams, for those who prefer lighter or heavier resistances when gaming.

This mouse was designed for both left-handed people or right-handed people as the shape is symmetrical. It would be nice if the side buttons were modular to fit left-handed mouse users better, but that’s only something you’d see at the highest price points of gaming mice.

A couple extra features included are braided wires and red LEDs, which are nicely added touches to make the mouse feel and look a bit more premium. They also include a carrying case to store your mouse during travel.

A side thing to note is that this mouse also comes with software to reprogram the buttons and set gaming profiles, but during testing, the software was barely functioning, so this review will be entirely based on the mouse alone, and not the software.

Build:

The mouse’s chasis actually feels pretty good – it’s a solid ABS plastic that’s molded rather well and is textured in specific places for better grip. The clicks on the left and right buttons feel very tactile, and the side buttons have a little more travel distance than expected, but that’s not necessarily a complaint.

Unfortunately, there were a few bumps along the road when playing around with the ReDragon M601. There’s not much to hide when a mouse is at such a low price point – sacrifices had to be made somewhere.

The major downside of this mouse is the scroll wheel. The scroll has a bit more resistance than I would prefer and the scroll-steps are rather large. For those FPS players who like to have the scroll wheel as a trigger button, rest assured, the one positive of this scroll wheel is that it is easy to click.

There’s also a weird rattling sound that’s coming from the inside of the mouse when you pick it up and shake it. Although loose parts inside the ReDragon M601 won’t impede your gaming performance, it does speak a lot about the build quality. You definitely would not be seeing this specific issue in higher-end products. Thankfully, this rattling is not audible when the mouse is moving on a surface. Nonetheless, it’s still a concern to point out.

Unfortunately, ReDragon doesn’t get too much into detail about the two most important factors of a gaming mouse – the sensor and the switches – and we’re very certain that ReDragon cut back costs in those departments in order to get the price so low. On most high-end gaming mice, and even on the mid-tier ones, you can expect Omron switches that are graded for millions of clicks, as well as, either a TrueMove 3 sensor or 3366 Optical sensor. While we can’t necessarily test the amount of clicks the mouse can endure in such a short period time of reviewing, we can at least test the sensor during gaming sessions and provide our opinions on its performance.

Performance:

The ReDragon M601 mouse was tested in the three most popular gaming categories: FPS, MOBA, and MMORPG.

When playing FPS games, it’s clear that ReDragon cut back on a high-quality sensor. When you need high accuracy in FPS games, the sensor will let players down due to the jittering. The ReDragon M601 also features mouse acceleration; those who are actually transitioning from another mouse will probably overshoot their aim because of the feature – especially when flicking. While it’s not optimal for FPS games, it’s by no means a bad choice. Just have your expectations set when you get into a gun fight or are trying to headshot someone with a sniper.

As for MOBA games, this is probably where players would get the best performance out of this mouse. The clicks are reliable, and due to how MOBAs – like League of Legends and Smite – are played, mouse acceleration probably won’t affect them as much as FPS players. MOBA players also don’t need pinpoint accuracy when it comes to mouse sensors.

And in our final category, I think it’s quite safe to say that the M601 wouldn’t be a good mouse for the MMORPG players. Any dedicated MMORPG player would much rather prefer multiple programmable side buttons – which ReDragon offers a budget solution for that, as well. With this mouse, you only get two useable reprogrammable buttons – definitely not enough for the average World of Warcraft or TERA player. Mouse acceleration and sensor jittering might become an issue when dueling in PvP modes, but it shouldn’t be a problem during PvE.

Overall Thoughts:

The ReDragon M601 wasn’t a disappoint, per se, but that’s taking the price into consideration. It honestly isn’t the most recommendable mouse that ReDragon has to offer. So, it shouldn’t speak for the company as a whole because they decided to undertake the project (or burden) of creating such a budget gaming mouse. ReDragon’s products are known for their affordability and their performance at those price points, but you can only go so cheap before the sacrifices become too much – which the M601 is an unfortunate victim of.

However, taking everything into consideration, would I personally recommend this? Yes, but only as a temporary option if your budget is that low. ReDragon cut back a lot, and it’s clear that they did so just by looking at the price of this mouse. But there’s no shame in starting off with this mouse.

Despite all that I’ve said, it is more than what I expected to get out of a budget mouse. If I had any feedback to give, it would be to cut back on the red LEDs, braided cable, and carrying case, so they can funnel the savings into a better sensor.

However, make no mistake that the marginal return on investment is really high when you start off that low on the price spectrum. What that means is, while a mid-tier mouse could perform very close to a high-tier mouse, a budget mouse will not come anywhere close to a mid- tier mouse. So, the extra money you can spend at the lower-tiers will have a noticeable effect on competitive gaming.

Just for comparison purposes, if you can spend just a bit more, you can afford the Logitech G102 Prodigy, which sports a top-of-the-line Mercury sensor, and Omron switches. This will almost guarantee that the G102 Prodigy will outlast how long you’d expect to have it for. This budget mouse from Logitech is one of the most highly rated gaming mice, even without taking the price into consideration. As you can see, with a little bit of extra investment into your gaming mice, you get a lot more return on investment.

But, to reiterate, there is no shame in not being able to afford more than the ReDragon M601, because at the end of the day, it will get the job done and you’ll have a blast gaming.

What is The Best Mouse For Realm Royale?

Realm Royale is one of the largest contenders for the battle royale throne and a much needed change from Epic games mega successes Fortnite. If you are anything like me you are probably wondering, what is the best mouse for Realm Royale? and what can I do to improve myself. That’s where me and my huge collection of gaming mice comes in!Logitech G502 Proteus Core

I have already tested dozens of mice playing Realm Royale and it turns out everyone in the community were right the Logitech G502 is the best mouse for Realm Royale. This shouldn’t come as a surprise though as the G502 is the most popular gaming mouse among Fortnite and other Third person shooter players.

With that being said not all players can utilize the G502 to its full potential and at least for me getting used to the G502’s “Palm” shape was a hard task.

What To Look for in a Realm Royale mouse?

Extra Buttons

Realm Royale only has 2 weapons,3 abilities and 2 “potion” slots (HP, Armor) in comparison to Fortnite’s array of building, weapon and utility functions binding your Realm Royale buttons should be fairly easy.

With that being said the traditional Realm Royale setup which consists of F and Q for your abilities and Left shift for your movement abilitiy doesn’t leave you with a lot to bind your disenchant, Weapon slots and even mount and inventory functions.

That’s why you should always look for a mouse with at least 2 extra buttons so you can bind your weapons to. this way you will be able to quickly pick up weapons from the floor without leaving the comfortable W,A,S,D finger position.

In addition to the very important weapon slots which I highly recommend you bind you should always try bind most of your utility functions to convenient buttons. For example I binded my mount and disenchant slots to my G502’S extra buttons so I can more efficiently finish my small “Loot runs” and spend more time preparing for the next battle ahead.

Sensor

Pretty self explanatory no matter what game you play you should always look for the best sensor you can afford. I usually recommended any pix-art sensor or any proprietary sensor by Razer. I find theses sensors to be the most reliable ones and the ones giving me the least problems when aggressively turning or when flick shooting my enemies.

With that being said there are plenty of other sensor companies out there and I highly recommend you to research your desired mouse sensor on a case per case basis.

PS: all the mice on this list feature some of best sensors on the market and you shouldn’t worry about anything technical if you pick one of them!

Design

Another pretty self explanatory factor, you should always consider your mice design as you will probably spend years and years with it.

Now that we got everything out of the way we can finally dive into my best Realm Royale mouse list!

#1 Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

As I have mentioned before the G502 is a must have for every Third person shooter fan. Ninja has proved he is one of the best Fortnite players using the G502 and he has recently started dominating the Realm Royale scene as well. g502

Ninja’s favorite classes are the Assassin and Hunter which utilize very aim dependent class weapons. If you have watched any of Ninja’s Realm Royale clips you already know he slays with them and that’s largely due to his G502!

In addition to the fact that the G502 is widely used among Battle Royale Pros the PMW3366 sensor, chassis and overall “Feel” of the G502 are simply great and this is the only mouse I like when playing with low dpi settings in Third person shooters. The palm grip design and extra contact points make for a great “Precision mouse” and one of the few mice I can actually get consistent battle royales in Fortnite and crown Royales in Realm Royale.

As you can already tell I really love the Logitech G502 and I totally agree with the BR community when it says this mouse is a must have and the absolute king when it comes to Third person shooter Battle Royales

Pick the G502 If

You want to join countless Battle Royale pros including myself (Definitely not a pro) 😉 and enjoy the G502’s extra buttons, incredible tracking and great ergonomic design. (See Lowest Price)

Don’t Pick the G502 If

You are a finger tip or “Hard claw” Gripper.

#2 Final Mouse Ultra Light Pro

The Final mouse ultra light Pro is my personal choice for all FPS games and one of the most popular mice among CS:GO professionals. The Ultra Light Pro is not as good when it comes to third person shooters but with some getting used to it can become A deadly weapon.ultra light mouse pro

The ultra light low weight, incredible sensor and comfy design make it a great option for Low DPI players which are looking for that deadly Precision/speed combination. The cool Hive design doesn’t hurt either!

In addition to its array of impressive features this mouse is used by one of Realm Royale’s biggest stars Summit1g Which also happens to be a former CS:GO pro (What are the odds) I don’t need to tell you how god like summit’s aim is and I highly encourage you to go for the Final Mouse Ultra light if you have a good FPS background and/or you are a claw/finger tip gripper.

Pick the Final Mouse Ultra Light Pro If

You are a good First person shooter player or if you are a claw/finger tip gripper.

Don’t Pick the Final Mouse Ultra Light Pro If

Your grip is not claw/finger tip and you want to go for the proven G502 instead.

Conclusion

And that’s it for now these are the two mice I really like when playing Realm Royale! Sure I could inflate this list with 10 mice I didn’t like but you know me I only recommend the best of the best to my precious readers 🙂

With that being said I hope you are a little smarter than you were a few minutes ago and that you are a little closer to an informed buying decision!

Happy gaming and good luck.

See you in the next one!

Best mouse for Fortnite

Fortnite is one of the few successful third person only shooters in the world and you probably haven’t played a 3rd person shooter other than fortnite in quite a while now.

I know it takes time to adjust to the unique game-play Fortnite has to offer. From my experience the perfect Fps mouse won’t be the perfect TPS mouse and I highly recommend you to get a new mouse specifically for Third person shooters as they offer a totally different “Aiming Experience” from your traditional First person shooters.

Before I dive into the list of best Fortntie mice I will go over the essential features you should look for in your new TPS mouse!

Weight

As a general rule of thumb you should always look for a rather heavy mouse when playing Third person shooters such as Fortnite. The reason for that is third person shooters tend to be more “sensitive” even when using low Sensitivity and DPI settings. With that being said some players prefer lighter mice which could also work if you are using very low DPI settings and Sens.

Sensor

As with any other Shooter a quality sensor is a must when looking for the best Fortnite mouse. All the mice on my list feature some of the best sensors in the market and I am sure you will be able to achieve your maximum potential using them!

Adjustability

I would usually tell you to never adjust your DPI on the fly as it will interfere with your muscle memory and cause inconsistent aim. However in Fortnite you will find yourself in various situations that are completely different from one another. In the beginning of a match you might find yourself fighting with a shotgun and in the end you might be sniping from long distances.

In most other shooters you won’t have this variance in gameplay and that’s why i would suggest you to steer away from adjusting your DPI on the fly. With that being said Fortnite is a completely different game and i don’t see you nailing a 360 shotgun headshot using 400 DPI.

Our Picks:

First Place – G502 Proteus Spectrum

The Logitech G502 has become the number 1# choice for pro Fortnite players and it’s even used by Ninja which is the biggest streamer the world has ever seen. We are definitely not surprised by the G502’s immense popularity as it is one of the only FPS gaming mice which boasts more than 2-3 extra buttons.G502 Proteus Spectrum

The G502 has 11 extra buttons! And If you choose to go with it you can kiss goodbye the days of lousy key binds and play like just like your favorite streamers.

Using the G502 when playing Fortnite is an absolute joy and we are sure you will love the ability to build, switch weapons and even look at the map using only your mouse!

For us the G502 is a game changer and we personally get more battle Royales than ever before!

Pick the Logitech G502 if

You want to play like the pros and enjoy better reaction times thanks to the superior keybindings.

Don’t Pick the Logitech G502 if

You are looking for a more affordable option

Second Place – Razer DeathAdder Elite

In first place comes one of the most popular gaming mice in the world. The DeathAdder elite is used by some of the best players in the world and its my personal choice for Third person shooters. The DeathAdder Elite weighs 109 grams, In addition the DeathAdder elite features a rather large design this combination makes the DeathAdder Elite feel Heavy and grounded while keeping your wrist and sanity at bay!

In addition to the perfect weight the DeathAdder Elite comes with a flawless Pixart PMW3389 sensor and it offers the absolute best tracking when it comes to Close quarter Fortnite combat and long range sniper battles!

The DeathAdder’s Ergonomic design, beautiful sleek design and Chroma lightning don’t hurt either and it’s easy to tell why the DeathAdder Elite comes at my first place!

Pick the DeathAdder elite if

You are looking for the perfect combination of control and speed and want to improve your Close quarter combat as well as your sniping/long range skills without breaking the bank (See lowest price).

Don’t Pick the DeathAdder Elite if

You are a complete “fingertip” grip player

Third Place – Logitech G903

The Logitech G903 would make it to first place if price wasn’t a factor and in my opinion it’s the best gaming mouse in the world! Sure the G903 is expensive but it offers some of the coolest features I have ever seen.

To start things off the G903 is the first truly competitive wireless mouse in the world and its performance is up to par and even better than some of the top-tier mice in the market.

It can also be used as a wired mouse and I absolutely love Logitech’s powerplay mousepad which allows the G903 to be used as an everlasting wireless mouse!

In addition to all the Cool features, the G903 is just a great mouse and the overall best performer on our list when it comes to tracking, design and overall Feel.

The first thing I noticed when reading the spec sheet of the G903 is the flawless PMW3366 sensor which offers the best tracking/performance in the market.

In addition to the great sensor, the G903 is one of the most customizable FPS/TPS mice I have ever encountered and I personally assigned the 5 Slot buttons and the building input key “Q” to the mouse customizable buttons.

Pick The G903 If

You are looking for the best Fortnite performance and don’t mind spending a hefty sum for that performance (See lowest prices).

Don’t Pick The G903 If

You are not willing to spend this much on a gaming mouse.

Fourth Place – SteelSeries Rival 700

SteelSeries Rival 700

The SteelSeries Rival 700 is the most revolutionary gaming mouse I have ever seen. It’s the first mouse that doesn’t only serve as an input device and it can be customized to vibrate and display in-game stats.

I personally use the Rival 700 to know when Roshan has spawned in Dota 2 and count my headshots in CS:GO. When playing Fortnite I use the Rival 700 without any tactile alerts as it’s not yet supported by the gamesense software.

In addition to all the cool features the Rival 700 is simply one of the best gaming mice in the world. It is fairly heavy at 135G and feels amazing when playing Fortnite or PUBG. It is also great for MOBAs and I really like it when playing overwatch and CS:GO.

The mouse also features a state of the art PixArt PMW3360 sensor which allows for a smooth tracking experience in Fortnite and other FPS/TPS games.

In conclusion the Rival 700 is a great mouse for those of you with slightly bigger hands that like heavy mice which will provide you with extra control.

Pick the Rival 700 If

You have bigger hands and are looking for a robust reliable mouse for Fortnite and other shooter games for a reasonable price (See lowest price).

Don’t Pick the Rival 700 If

You prefer lighter mice

Razer Basilisk

The Razer Basilisk is a bit of a monster of a mouse. It doesn’t get as much fanfare as other mice on the market because it doesn’t look as nice. That doesn’t mean that the Basilisk is an ugly mouse, it just doesn’t have the defined lines of some of the more popular mice. It also catches some flak due to the software still being in beta, but that won’t always be an issue.

In terms of features it has one of the most important features around, it is extremely comfortable. The Basilisk also allows for the sensitivity of the scroll wheel to be adjusted which means there will be no scrolling past items anymore. There is also a thumb rest included which just ramps up the comfort levels. You hand won’t be tired during a marathon session ever again.

The most important feature the Basilisk has though is the clutch. The clutch is a small paddle located near the thumb rest. Once the clutch has been activated, sniper mode comes into effect. What is sniper mode? That’s a good question. Sniper mode instantly lowers your DPI and makes it easier to carry out minute adjustments to position. It makes those long range headshots much easier. This means that the Basilisk allows for 2 specific levels of sensitivity that can switch over from one to the other instantly. This level of choice is great for players who want different mouse sensitivity for different tasks. The only real drawback is that the placement of the thumb rest and clutch make it right handed only.

Final Thought

The Basilisk is a marvel of design innovation and shows that Razer aren’t willing to rest on their laurels. The Basilisk might not be perfect, but it does have enough included to give it some value over other mice on the market. The Basilisk may take some getting used to at first, but once you are used to it there is no mouse as comfortable.

Pick the Razer Basilisk if

You love your sniper rifle more than life itself

Don’t pick the Razer Basilisk if

You’re left handed, the clutch makes it hard to use

Razer Naga Trinity

The Razer Naga Trinity is the perfect mouse for players who don’t know what they want. Why is that? Because it offers 3 distinct button layouts, all in the same mouse. This doesn’t mean the mouse can be programmed for 3 distinct layouts. It literally has 3 different panels that can be changed. It means that the Razer Naga Trinity can be used efficiently for Fortnite, World of Warcraft and web browsing. This level of variety makes it a very appealing product.

The panels don’t come away too easily, but at the same time are simple to change over. This means that unless you specifically try to remove them they won’t come off during gameplay. This is vitally important when playing as the panel falling away would almost definitely cause a loss.

The best thing about the Naga Trinity is that each different panel can accommodate a different play style. The 12 button layout would be perfect for players who like to build a lot. The hex layout would be perfect for players who prefer a mixed play style. The simple 2 button layout would be perfect for run and gun players. The Naga Trinity really is for everyone.

The software allows for not just programming button layouts but also macros. This means that building has never been as easy. You can almost build a hotel while getting a headshot with the Naga Trinity. The mouse itself also recognises when the panels are changedover, so it won’t throw up errors when they are changed.

Final Thought

This means that despite the price being slightly above some others on the market it is still good value. It is essentially 3 mice in 1. This stops the need for buying more than 1 mouse. It may seem expensive at first but in the long run it will save money. If you like to have variety in your play then the Naga Trinity offers that opportunity.

Pick the Razer Naga Trinity if

You like to be able to use a different mouse for different games

Don’t pick Razer the Naga Trinity if

You find it hard to memorise button layouts

Corsair Scimitar Pro

The Corsair Scimitar Pro is a mouse that looks like it means business. It wouldn’t look out of place on the set of a science fiction movie. It just looks futuristic. Are the novelty aesthetics hiding something? Or does it live up to the visual promise? The answer is that it most definitely lives up to its visual promise. The most obvious feature on the Scimitar Pro is the 17 buttons it has littered around its body. This allows the Corsair Scimitar to carry out a number of tasks.

The design for the Scimitar Pro makes it a highly comfortable mouse, although it is heavy. This does allow for great degrees of accuracy, but may not be to everyone’s tastes. It does however have a level of softness rarely experienced on other mice which means it feels wonderful to hold in the hand.

The majority of the 17 buttons on the Scimitar Pro are on the left hand side. In the space where your thumb goes there are 12 buttons on the side panel. The placement of the buttons can be shifted to suit your thumbs position which helps make using them easy.

The Scimitar Pro ensures that movement is not hindered with 2 main features. Firstly, it has 4 teflon pads on the underside of the mouse. These allow for excellent smoothness when moving the mouse. Secondly, the Scimitar Pro allows for a ridiculous amount of accuracy with the DPI. With a maximum level of 16,000 it offers incredible sensitivity but it also also be lowered one by one all the way down to 100. This means that players can choose exactly the level of sensitivity that they prefer.

Final Thought

The Scimitar Pro will provide players with an excellent level of performance. The 12 buttons may be too much for some players which means it isn’t for everyone. However, for players who like to have complete command of everything the Scimitar Pro provides this. It also allows for the creation of macros which makes more complex activities easier.

Pick the Corsair Scimitar Pro if

You like to be able to build in the middle of intense firefights

Don’t pick the Corsair Scimitar Pro if

You don’t like heavy mice.

Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum

The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum wouldn’t look out of place strapped to the Predator’s arm. It’s an appropriate look, because the G900 makes taking out your enemies easier than ever. The range of features included with the G900 Chaos Spectrum make it a competitor for most other gaming mice on the market.

Firstly, it’s completely hand neutral. It doesn’t matter if you are a leftie or a rightie, you can use this mouse. Often mice that allow ambidextrous usage are designed almost with a sense of fear. Innovation and features are sacrificed for symmetry. This is not the case with the G900 Chaos Spectrum. While it maintains the symmetry that it needs to be functional with both hands, it is packed with quality.

Due to the G900 being a wireless mouse there may be fears about lag or losing connections. Logitech have created a wireless mouse that blasts these fears away. There is no lag between using the mouse and actions being carried out. It won’t put you at a disadvantage when playing Fortnite, in fact the other features may do the opposite.

One of the most amazing features included in the G900 is the ability to change the DPI by increments of 2 either way during play. The 2 buttons near the scroll wheel handle this action. This is different to other mice that include a sniper mode as it means complete calibration can occur in game. The function is a game changer as it allows for actual in game testing to get the DPI right. It could allow for better DPI settings than ever. If you feel like the DPI buttons aren’t needed at any point it is possible to reprogram them for other functions. They could even be reprogrammed to act like the clutch like on the Razer Basilisk.

It’s also incredibly comfortable. This is surprising considering Logitech’s hands were tied slightly due to making it ambidextrous. The mouse feels light in the hand, not like a dead weight. There is also the added bonus of no wires cluttering up the desk. It’s surprising how much better it feels to have a mouse without wires when gaming.

Final Thought

The scroll wheel also has a 3 way click with it just to make it that much easier to carry out tasks on the fly. The G900 really goes all out to make gaming an easier experience.

Pick the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum if

You want a great looking wireless mouse with no lag

Don’t pick the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum if

You’re on a tight budget. It is expensive.

SteelSeries Sensei 310

The SteelSeries Sensei 310 is another ambidextrous gaming mouse. It doesn’t have the same level of design quality as the G900 Chaos Spectrum, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t high quality. There are some excellent features included with the Sensei 310. It hasn’t taken being ambidextrous as an excuse to create a poor product.

In terms of comfort the Sensei 310 fits like a glove. It’s not too big and not too small. It nestles in the hand like a tiger, ready to pounce. It also has rubber grips on the sides to ensure that there isn’t any slipping at vital moments. The level of comfort on offer from the Sensei 310 is vital to gaming. If your mouse isn’t comfortable, then your gaming won’t be at its best.

While the mouse itself does feel slightly less sturdy and robust than some other mice on the market, this does contribute to it being relatively lightweight. This makes it a perfect mouse for fast moves, although it has a maximum DPI of 12,000 which is lower than others. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing though as the usual maximum of 16,000 is generally far too high for the majority of players. With a suggested range of 400-1000 DPI for Fortnite the Sensei 310 comes well within this range.

The lightweight body combined with the excellent accuracy that comes with movements means that it is perfect for taking quick shots. It makes that quick kill easier to come by. The rubber grips on the side helps with this as well. Those grips mean that it is easier to keep control of the mouse during those tense moments. Especially when you have sweaty hands from the tension!

The software included with the Sensei 310 allows for mapping of the various buttons. This means that you can get your preferred layout with relative ease. It won’t be long before you have the Sensei 310 set up exactly how you want. This undoubtedly makes it a lot easier in the long term. There is nothing better than having your mouse set up just how you want it.

Final Thought

Some people may prefer a heavier mouse that feels a little more sturdy. Don’t discount the Sensei 310 though. The features make for a quality gaming mouse. It won’t let you down in the heat of the battle, although it also doesn’t quite live up to some other mice on the market. The Sensei 310 is a solid gaming mouse it just struggles to step up to the next level.

Pick the SteelSeries Sensei 310 if

You’re on a budget but don’t want limited functionality

Don’t pick the SteelSeries Sensei 310 if

You want a mouse that offers new and innovative features

Logitech G Pro

At first glance the Logitech G Pro may seem like a standard mouse. That is doing it a disservice. The G Pro is a high tech gaming mouse that is geared towards making your gaming as good as possible. The design is streamlined and lightweight, the features are superb and it allows for use with both hands. Is there anything else you need? Only a coffee making button, but that might be on the next generation. What are the features on the G Pro though?

First up is the symmetrical design. This does make the G Pro look slightly generic, but this is an unfair aspersion. The G Pro is symmetrical in order to cater for both left and right handed people. This means that a top quality mouse is available for everyone. It also means that it increases the potential sales for Logitech. In order to change from left handed to right handed, and vice versa, all it takes it a quick change of the buttons on the sides. It also allows for buttons to be on both sides, which just increases the options. The buttons stay in place with magnets, which removes the problem of them not holding in place over time.

All buttons and settings on the G Pro are programmable. While there isn’t a sniper function built in, it is possible to program one in. This means that the G Pro can be catered for almost any user. Your preferred button layout isn’t lost to your old mouse. You can make sure that you have the best chance of winning. The DPI is also fully customisable as well. This means that there is no worries about movement speed being hampered.

If you like a lightweight mouse then you’re in for a treat with the G Pro. It weighs so little that it feels almost weightless. This may take some getting used to if you are used to heavier mice, but it does make movement smoother once you are comfortable with it. It means that small movements are needed for aiming. This obviously makes your choices faster once you get used to the speed.

Final Thought

The G Pro is also a wireless mouse. This may be a hindrance to some, but the G Pro is lag free. This ensures that it removes the hassle of cables, while still maintaining high levels of performance. While it does require charging every now and again Logitech have a plan for this. There is an included USB cable. This means that if you need to charge while gaming, you can just plug it in. It also has a charging dock for overnight charging too.

Pick the Logitech G Pro if

You want a high class, feature heavy mouse

Don’t pick the Logitech G Pro if

You’re on a tight budget, the G Pro is very pricy

BenQ ZOWIE EC2-A

The first thing you notice about the EC2-A is that it is incredibly light. Secondly, you notice that it doesn’t feel cheap with it. Some mice sacrifice weight for build quality. BenQ have not done that with this gaming mouse. The EC2-A feels like it is up for anything you might put it through.

In terms of size the EC2-A isn’t one of the gargantuan gaming mice on the market. It won’t overload you with hand positions and millions of buttons. You don’t need giant hands and 50 fingers to operate the EC2-A. However, that doesn’t mean it is small and lacking in features and buttons either. The buttons are in excellent places and are ergonomic. This helps both for comfort and for ease of use. Incidentally the scroll wheel also requires more of a deliberate action to it. This helps in terms of being deliberate when scrolling, but it may take some getting used to.

The DPI can be set to a particular range of values. While this doesn’t offer as much customisation as a lot of other mice out there, it does allow for it to fit inside the comfortable range for Fortnite and other FPS games. There is no rubber grip from the EC2-A. This means it lacks a little in tense moments. It does make up for this by being so ergonomically designed though. Due to it fitting perfectlyinto the hand, slippage is a rarity. Rubber grips may have improved grip slightly, but the EC2-A doesn’t suffer for the lack of them.

Final Thought

If you’re intending to take your gaming to the next level and stick within a reasonable budget then the EC2-A is the mouse for you. It feels great in your hand and is accurate to boot. The sensor never skips or loses tracking either. In terms of downsides there is a lack of customisation options. This is especially apparent when compared to other mice on the market.

Pick the BenQ Zowie EC2-A if

You want a solid, no frills gaming mouse

Don’t pick the BenQ Zowie EC2-A if

You want to be able to customise all aspects of your mouse

BenQ ZOWIE FK2

The BenQ ZOWIE FK2 is a mouse that takes the challenges of pleasing as many people as possible on board. Not many mice do this. There are a lot of mice that focus on 1 or 2 areas. Not the FK2. It is designed to be as comfortable to hold for as many people as possible. Is it the most comfortable mouse ever? It quite possibly is.

The side buttons on either side of the FK2 only function one at a time. This is due to it being an ambidextrous mouse. When using it right handed the left side buttons work. If using it left handed then the right side buttons work. This might be slightly annoying to some people, but it stops the non working side buttons from being triggered accidentally.

In terms of the DPI the FK2 has the same number of settings as the EC2-A. This means that it comes well within the range that is perfect for Fortnite. However, it doesn’t have the ability to fine tune like other mice on the market. This could work out as a negative for players who like to really home in on their settings. As silly as it may sound 3 DPI could be the difference between a win and a loss at higher levels. Players who are near the top tier may feel like this lets them down.

The buttons for the FK2 have a slight amount of resistance to them. This ensures that there is no chance of accidental clicks. While higher end players may feel like this isn’t an issue, some less skilled players could see this as a bonus. There are positives and negatives to the resistance in the button, which means that it all comes down to personal preference.

Final Thought

The lack of software for the FK2 is a slight issue as this means button mapping isn’t possible. It also explains why the DPI only includes presets. While this isn’t the best case scenario, it does mean the FK2 is a plug in and play mouse. There is no lengthy setting up, it is ready to go out of the box.

Pick the BenQ ZOWIE FK2 if

You want a comfortable mouse that is ready to play with instantly

Don’t pick the BenQ ZOWIE FK2 if

You want a mouse that works to align with your own tastes

Roccat Nyth

The Roccat Nyth is a gaming mouse than has pretty much come in under the radar. Roccat aren’t as well known as a lot of other companies out there, but they still provide some quality peripherals. The Nyth is the latest of these.

In terms of looks, the Nyth is a beast. It looks scary the moment you cast eyes on it. Would it commit a crime? Most definitely. There is no crime in the performance though, where it matters. With a total of 18 buttons the Nyth makes sure that the most hardcore gamer can customise as much as they like. Of course, if the full 18 is too much, the Nyth allows for some removal of buttons. The Nyth can become a mouse to fit any players preferences. Another addition to the Nyth’s bag of tricks is the ability to 3D print your own buttons! You can craft and design them to the contours of your own fingers if you wish. This is definitely a first in the gaming mouse world.

Final Thought

The software that comes with the Nyth allows for full button mapping and customisation. Because of this the Nyth allows the whole 18 buttons to be mapped and have macros created. The DPI can also be customised, with a range up to 12,000, so you can get your sensitivity just right. This means that it allows customisation to fit your gaming style perfectly. While there isn’t a sniper mode built in, it is possible to add one using the button mapping and macros. This makes the Nyth a great mouse for pushing your Fortnite skills to the next level.

Pick the Roccat Nyth if

You want to be able to cater your mouse to your desires and whims.

Don’t pick the Roccat Nyth if

You are on a budget and don’t trust lesser known developers.

Conclusion

Give yourself a tap on the back if you have made it this far! You now know about some of the best Fortnite mice in the world and can confidently pick the right mouse for you. What is the Best Gaming Mouse For CS:GO? – 2018 Buyer’s Guide (Updated)

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is one of the most popular first person shooters around the world. With a peak of over 700,000 concurrent players in January 2018, the game is still going strong despite the fact that it’s several years old at this point – a testament to the game’s fun mechanics and superior replayability. While it’s possible to achieve great things with average equipment in CS:GO, the skill cap for the game is incredibly high. If you wish to rank in the upper echelons of the game, particularly in the higher ranks of Master Guardian and above, quality equipment can make all the difference. We’ve rounded up some of the best mice for CS:GO that will give you the edge to take your game to the next level.

Our Top Picks

Let’s take a look at some of the top picks. These are ranked in no particular order, but they are categorized based on where they excel. Whether you’re looking for the most luxurious model or that perfect mouse for your left-hand claw grip, there will be a gaming mouse here to suit your needs.

SteelSeries Rival 700 – Best High-End Model

Let’s kick off the list with one of the most luxurious mice. While all the mice on this list will help you climb the ranks in Competitive, the SteelSeries Rival 700 has a number of extra premium features – provided you’re willing to pay a premium price. With the majority of the models on our list hovering in the medium price range, the retail price of the SteelSeries Rival 700 is considerably higher. With that said, it’s packed with some serious specs and some neat quality-of-life features that may make this gaming mouse the top pick for the CS:GO connoisseur and absolutely justify the price (see lowest price).

SteelSeries Rival 700

We discussed the importance of switches above, and this SteelSeries mouse is pretty unique in that it has the capability to customize which in-game events have a tactile alert. While these alerts aren’t tied to the mouse switches themselves, it’s another example of the importance of having a mouse that gives you a good tactile response. Program your mouse to pulse when you get that perfect headshot, or to vibrate when you take a significant amount of damage. While this doesn’t enhance your gameplay directly, it’s a unique feature that really elevates the SteelSeries model to the next level. Additionally, the mouse is designed to have zero recoil. The tactile alerts will vibrate in the center of your palm as to not affect the mouse tracking.

The software for the SteelSeries mouse is also worth mentioning. With features such as the ability to customize the OLED screen on the device and real-time stats like headshot percentage whenever you need them, you’ll have full control over the setup and performance of your mouse as well as the data you need to understand where you’re excelling and where you need to improve. This same screen also features the ability to rapidly swap between your choice of DPI, with a visual indicator ensuring you’re always on the right sensitivity. Practice is a necessity if you’re to continue to climb, and this mouse goes the extra mile by giving you access to the tools you need to improve.SteelSeries Rival 700 side picture

The Rival 700 also comes with two swappable cables, allowing gamers to choose the length best suited for their battlestation. There’s also the option to swap out the top cover and choose between different designs if you’re willing to pay a little extra, adding to the customizability of this excellent peripheral.

BenQ ZOWIE EC2-A – Best eSports Pick

While the features on the SteelSeries are no-doubt impressive, sometimes you’re just after a high-end gaming mouse backed by eSports professionals that performs flawlessly without all the bells and whistles. Unlike other devices in this price range, you won’t find extra software or flashy screens. What you will find, however, is one of the best options on the market that has been endorsed by CS:GO pros.BenQ ZOWIE EC2-A

The BenQ ZOWIE EC2-A has a simple, understated design that is a stark contrast to the SteelSeries discussed above. Don’t let the simple appearance of the mouse scare you off, however, as the ZOWIE EC2-A is a high-end model that has the specifications you need whether you’re lining up that perfect headshot or going on a killing spree with a shotgun in Arsenal.

The ZOWIE EC2-A has DPI presets ranging from 400 to 3200 DPI, which is that sensitivity sweet spot we discussed in the first part of the guide. Additionally, the lift-off distance is around 1.5 mm, which means that the mouse will stop tracking almost immediately after it’s lifted off of the mousepad. Having ultimate control over your cursor is a necessity, and when you’re dealing with shots that have to be lined up in a fraction of a second, having equipment that responds immediately can elevate a CSGO player from excellent to the best around.

Another notable aspect of this BenQ mouse is the adjustable USB polling rate, ranging from 125 to 1000 Hz. These multiple options allow gamers to find the perfect number that offers them a lightning-fast response without taxing their CPU.

If you’re looking for a stripped-down mouse that performs nearly perfectly where it matters without any unnecessary frills and a great price (see lowest price), the ZOWIE EC2-A may be right up your alley.

Logitech G502 Proteus Core – Best Heavy Mouse

When choosing the perfect mouse for CS:GO, a lot of the comfort of the mouse comes down to personal preference. What may be the perfect peripheral for one gamer might be unusable for the next, and a large portion of what contributes to ease-of-use with a new mouse is the weight. If your preferences for weight trend towards the heavy side, the Logitech G502 Proteus Core is an excellent option.Logitech G502 Proteus Core

If you’re not sure the amount of weight you’ll need, you’ll likely be more than happy with the G502’s fully customizable weights. This mouse is heavier than average by default, and you also have the option to add in the perfect amount of weight to ensure that your mouse moves seamlessly when in the heat of battle. The customizability of the mouse doesn’t end there, either. You can place the weights in specific spots as well, adjusting the center of balance to further add to the smooth feeling of a mouse that feels great in your hand and responds just as you intend it to.

In addition to the adjustable weights and center of balance, the mouse features some excellent specifications that make your gameplay a breeze. 5 customizable DPI settings ranging from 200 to 12000 give you a wide range of options to choose from that are optimized to your needs. While most gamers play best in the 400 – 3200 DPI range, at the end of the day it’s largely a personal preference and the G502 gives you the ability to choose from settings ranging from extremely low to extremely high. Additionally, a dedicated button allows you to downshift your DPI to quickly pull off that perfect headshot.

Overall, the Logitech G502 offers a blend of customizability and premium performance that make it an excellent choice for those looking for a heavy mouse with complete control over weight and balance.

Finalmouse Ultralight Pro – Best Lightweight Mouse

For those of us who would like a lighter mouse, it doesn’t get much lighter than the Finalmouse Ultralight Pro. As the mouse of choice for many eSports gamers, the unique construction makes it nearly weightless and extremely easy to move and use. The philosophy of the company behind the Finalmouse Ultralight Pro is that the mouse should be as unimposing as possible in order to allow the “ultimate harmony between the mind, the hand, and the game.” While many manufacturers opt for fancy RGB lights and a heavier design that you can really feel, the Ultralight Pro takes the opposite approach. Similar to the BenQ mouse discussed above, it values simplicity and function over flashy features.Finalmouse Ultralight Pro

As the company states, the lighter the mouse the faster it is to move to your target. While there’s something to be said for the heft that a mouse with more weight to it provides, it’s true that the Ultralight Pro functions as a seamless extension of your arm and that you won’t have to expend any effort to get your cursor to where it needs to be. The unique honeycomb design protects the mouse internals despite the number of holes in the body that serve to make it the lightest mouse around. With the Finalmouse Ultralight Pro, you’ll also experience less arm fatigue during long stints of playing CS:GO, which may make a big difference when compared to a heavier mouse.

The high-quality wired connection also ensures flawless data transmission from the pmw3360 sensor – an eSports technology developed by Pixart – delivering raw and snappy 1:1 tracking that ensures your mouse performs just how you want it to.

While the light construction of the mouse is the biggest benefit behind the Ultralight Pro, it also features all of the basic necessities you’d expect from a quality CS:GO mouse – namely easy access to a DPI switch with options for settings including 400,800,1600, and 3200 sensitivities.

While Finalmouse may not be a brand that is quite as recognizable as Logitech, Razer, or SteelSeries, it’s an up-and-coming brand that offers something that we haven’t seen from an eSports mouse thus far. Keep in mind that this mouse is seriously light at just 67 grams – roughly the weight of an average tennis ball – so for some people it might be easy for the tracking to get out of control. Still, for those looking for an ultra-light mouse that moves with minimal effort required, the Finalmouse Ultralight Pro deserves a mention as one of the best eSports mice around.

SteelSeries Rival 100 – Best Budget Mouse

While the majority of the mice on this list offer premium performance, the fact remains that they also come with a premium price tag. It is possible, however, to get a mouse that’s good enough to play like the pros without breaking the bank. The SteelSeries Rival 100 is a little brother of sorts to the Rival 700, and is available for a fraction of the price (see lowest price). This mouse should be more than accessible to any Counter-Strike player that wants a peripheral that will grow with them as they grow in skill as a player.SteelSeries Rival 100

Marketed as “the only fully-equipped gaming mouse in its class”, the SteelSeries Rival 100 delivers performance that belies its budget price. Despite the fact that it retails for a very low price, the manufacturers behind the mouse managed to include Prism RGB illumination, six different buttons, an ergonomic design that’s built with comfort in mind, and long-lasting performance that is more than sufficient for even the most demanding Competitive climb.

In order to provide a mouse that can keep up with serious play while remaining affordable, SteelSeries worked with their sponsored eSports professionals to develop a model that meets the rigorous standards of the best of the best. If the Rival 100 performs well enough for the best CS:GO players in the world, it’s clear that the mouse is good enough for almost every player and will do so without breaking the bank.

Perhaps one of the most notable aspects of the Rival 100 is the custom-engineered 3059-SS optical gaming sensors, with 8 DPI steps up to 4000, 143 IPS, and 20g acceleration. These specifications combine to provide extremely accurate 1:1 optical tracking in a more affordable mouse. The mouse also features an optimized lift off distance, ensuring that the mouse stops tracking as soon as you lift it off of the mat.

Expanding on the abilities of this technology is On-board zero hardware acceleration capabilities that ensure there are no accelerations in the sensor of the Rival 100. This essentially means that regardless of how fast you move the mouse, you’ll always reach the same point, with the mouse registering the distance in the same way with no regard to how fast the mouse was moved. This allows for optimal performance while playing CS:GO – regardless of how quick your movements get while trying to track your opponents. SteelSeries Rival 100 left side

Even with the accessible price, the Rival 100 is fully customizable with the SteelSeries engine that allows gamers to remap all 6 buttons and adjust the optical sensor’s DPI. Users can also customize the illumination of the model with over 16 million options, as well as creating a specific profile for CS:GO that gives you the perfect color scheme for your next killstreak.

Steelseries also kept ergonomics in mind, and the mouse should be comfortable for all right-handed users – regardless of their grip style.

The SteelSeries Rival 100 provides top-notch performance with a budget price, and should be able to keep up with the best on this list without breaking the bank.

Razer DeathAdder Chroma – Best Ergonomics

While the majority of peripherals on this list feature a comfortable design, the Razer DeathAdder Chroma is widely renowned as a mouse with some of the best ergonomics around. With a simple design that just “works”, it should feel comfortable in the hand of any right-handed user – regardless of grip. It’s truly a joy to hold, and while it doesn’t feature any radical design changes, Razer has managed to nail down the formula for near-perfect comfort with a regular design that fits beautifully in the palm of your hand.Razer DeathAdder Chroma

With a top-notch design, swift responsiveness, and solid build quality that ensures the device will last for years to come, the DeathAdder Chroma is one of the world’s most beloved mice – and for a good reason. The comfort and reliability of the DeathAdder Chroma have elevated it to perhaps the most popular peripheral around the world, and as Razer’s high-end device, it represents the best of the best from a company well-known for their mice that combine form with function for a reasonable price.

The mouse’s sensor is customizable up to 10000 DPI, and while that may be excessive for the majority of high-end CS:GO professionals, the fact remains that DPI is largely a personal preference, and the ability to adjust the settings to work optimally within such a large range is a definite benefit. On-the-fly sensitivity adjustment also allows you to adjust the mouse to suit the needs of your specific situation. Whether you’re trying to execute that perfect flick shot or track an opponent that is moving erratically, you’ll have the tools you need to address whatever situation may arise.

Razer’s device also features five independently programmable Hyperesponse buttons that allow you to map game functions to easily accessible keys, and the 1000Hz Ultrapolling technology ensures that your computer gets the signal as soon as you send it – allowing for an instantaneous response as soon as you move the mouse. Featuring up to 300 inches per second / 50g acceleration, the mouse is also designed to keep up with the hectic speed of a CS:GO match and has the chops to excel during even the most frantic gameplay.

The DeathAdder Chroma also features support for Razer Synapse, which provides superior customizability as well as stats and heatmaps that let you understand how you’re using your mouse – giving you opportunities to take your CS:GO game to the next level. “From sensitivity to lift-off tracking to surface calibration, you get to customize every detail to be saved in the cloud, so you can play at your best in an instant, wherever you are.”

The DeathAdder Chroma combines some of the best ergonomics around as well as superior performance capabilities to continue your climb to Global Elite.

BenQ ZOWIE FK2 – Best For Claw Grip

While an ergonomic mouse like the DeathAdder Chroma should serve fine for both claw and palm grippers, sometimes it’s nice to have a mouse that is optimized for those with a claw grip. The majority of mice cater to the more traditional palm grip that the majority of gamers use, but having a mouse that fits perfectly in your hand is important regardless of how you hold it. The BenQ ZOWIE FK2 has a great combination of ergonomic claw grip design and high-end specifications used by multiple CSGO eSports professionals.

Like the ZOWIE EC2-A discussed above, the FK2 gets all the basics right without any added frills. It’s an ambidextrous mouse with thumb buttons on each side in order to adequately serve both right and left-handed users, and its plug and play design means that you’ll be ready to start getting those headshots right out of the box. The DPI, while not fully customizable, is available in 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 levels.BenQ ZOWIE FK2

As far as polling rate goes, you’ll be able to adjust that too with 125, 500, and 1000 Hz options just like the EC2-A. Additionally, the lift-off distance of around 1.8mm is the perfect edition to make sure your mouse stops tracking reliably when you lift it from the pad. While the ZOWIE mice lack the customizability and fancy colors of some of the other models on this list, they still manage to offer enough control to get the mouse working just the way you want it to.

It’s important to keep in mind that the FK2 is optimized for those with smaller hands. If you have a larger grip and are looking for a near-identical model, consider taking a look at the FK1 which offers the same design and features at a bigger size.

Overall, the combination of a basic design optimized for comfort with the elegant implementation of all of the specifications that matter most make this our top pick for those with a claw grip.

Razer DeathAdder Essential (Left-Handed) – Best For Lefties

It’s no coincidence that another Razer mouse made the list, considering the company’s dedication to supporting gamers ranging from mild enthusiasts to eSports professionals. Because the left-handed among us are much rarer than the right-handed population, the majority of mice are designed with the majority in mind. Because of this, what might be comfortable in a regular mouse for right-handed gamers might not work well at all for lefties. There are a number of ambidextrous mice that can be used by anyone, but this version of the Razer DeathAdder Essential is designed with the ergonomics of lefties in mind.Razer DeathAdder Essential (Left-Handed)

The Razer DeathAdder Essential is used by eSports professionals across the industry and is well-known for its ergonomic design as well as the swift responsiveness and premium build quality. The mouse embodies what the left-handed gamer needs in order to dominate in CS:GO, and is one of the best options on the market for taking your game to the next level.

Adding to the comfort of the device, the weight of the peripheral was a significant consideration for Razer when it came to the design of the DeathAdder Essential. Striking a balance between heavy and light, the moderate weight of this mouse should give the perfect amount of traction and ease-of-use to ensure that you can move easily while still remaining in complete control of your game. Each aspect of the DeathAdder Essential was designed with the CS:GO gamer in mind, from the ergonomic design optimized for lefties down to the internal hardware with the best in tracking technology.

Speaking of tracking technology, the Razer DeathAdder Essential ships with one of the most accurate trackers around, using 3.5G infrared technology to produce a sensor with superior reliability. Out of all of the mice on this list, the DeathAdder has one of the highest polling rates at 1000 Hz, which means your clicks while playing CS:GO should register instantaneously. The majority of gaming mice have a 125 Hz response rate, which is about 7 ms slower. That might not seem like a lot, but in a game with such high skill requirements and strict reaction times, sometimes a split second can make all the difference.

Additionally, like the majority of Razer’s mice, the DeathAdder essential comes with support for the Razer Synapse software. With the ability to customize pretty much every setting of your device, you can program the side buttons to do whatever you please. With the ability to adjust sensitivity as well, you’ll be able to choose the rating that works best for you during extended CS:GO gaming sessions.

As far as sensitivity goes, the DeathAdder Essential features a DPI that goes up to 3500, which should be more than sufficient given the sweet spot that most CS:GO professionals usually play with. However, if you find that you favor high sensitivities, you may be better off with one of the other mice on this list that give you the option to scale higher. Still, for left-handed gamers, you can’t do much better than this premium mouse from Razer.

Logitech G602 Lag-Free – Best Wireless Mouse

As mentioned above, there’s long been a debate in the gaming community as to whether wireless mice were effective in providing the level of quality that gamers looking to play CS:GO at a high-level require. While it was originally true that the reliability of wireless mice was not quite as good as that of a wired version, technology has come quite a long way in recent years and has resulted in the creation of some wireless mice that can compete with the best eSports peripherals the industry has to offer.

Logitech is one of the biggest creators of peripherals worldwide, and are responsible for some of the best gaming mice around. The Logitech G602 is no exception, offering wireless functionality that will give you the capabilities you need in order to excel during your next marathon CS:GO session.Logitech G602

One of the chief concerns many people have with wireless mice is the battery life. After all, having your mice die on you in the middle of a competitive match is surely enough to negatively affect your rating. The Logitech G602 shouldn’t have any issues in that department, however, with over 250 hours of life on a single battery. Additionally, during tasks that don’t require such strict performance, you can switch the battery into “Endurance Mode” which will give a shocking 1440 hours of battery life. With the ability to swap between performance and endurance modes, you can push your mouse to its limits while playing CS:GO while dialing it back during basic web browsing to ensure the battery life lasts as long as possible. A low-battery LED will also keep you informed as to when the charge is getting low, giving you ample time to swap the battery out when you’re in the midst of the action.

While the 11 customizable buttons may not be necessary in an FPS like CS:GO for most players, it’s a nice benefit to have for playing other games that require more keybindings. Still, having the ability to add game functions to the mouse does still have some applications in-game, as you can map keyboard shortcuts to your device for easier access. If you’re not interested in customizing all of the buttons to start, however, you’ll be happy to know that the G602 functions right out of the box with no additional setup.

We discussed at the start of this guide the importance of high-quality switches, and this mouse has some of the best. With switches rated to 20 million clicks, you would be able to use the mouse for over six months at optimal efficiency if you were to click every second of every day. Even with the busiest CS:GO sessions, your investment in the Logitech G602 should give you a mouse that will last for years to come.
Logitech G602 back

The Delta Zero Sensor Technology is another key aspect of this Logitech mouse, with power-saving optimization and high-accuracy cursor control using the company’s proprietary lens design, illumination geometry, and processing algorithms.

Out of all of the mice on this list, the G602 has the lowest maximum DPI at 2500, but it also gives the option for settings all the way down to 250 DPI – making it the model with the lowest sensitivity option out of all the devices we’ve reviewed. Just like some of the best wireless mice, you have the option to shift your DPI levels from pixel-precise targeting to lightning-fast maneuvers with a single press of a switch.

Although the reliance on non-rechargeable batteries may be seen as inconvenient to some, in reality, a single charge will last for months rather than hours. Combine the long battery life with excellent customer reviews and some of the best performance around, and it’s easy why the Logitech G602 makes the list for the best wireless option.

CORSAIR M65 Pro RGB – FPS Gaming Mouse – Best Software Integration

A lot of the devices on this list – most notably the models from Logitech and Razer – have some sort of software integration that gives users more control over the specifics of their mouse’s function. While many people are just looking for a plug and play mouse, some people are looking for a mouse where they have complete control over every aspect of their play. The Corsair M65 Pro gives gamers access to CUE 2 – some of the best software we’ve seen in a mouse – making this mouse the king of customizability with an easy-to-use interface with an impressive number of options.CORSAIR M65 Pro RGB

Like many other software options, the CUE 2 gives gamers control over the coloring of their mouse. However, Corsair’s software offers many more options, allowing you to chose static, gradient, ripple, or even wave patterns for your mouse’s coloring. If you’d prefer to stay with a more traditional coloring, you have that option too with access to an “infinite spectrum” of colors with millions of different options you can adjust to suit your needs. While the color of your mouse may not have any direct effect over your gaming in CS:GO, there’s something to be said for looking good while you’re climbing the ranks. CUE 2 also features a revamped user interface that is easy to use and understand, with support for up to a 4K resolution. Customize the software with unique icons and background image to make it your own, just as you would customize your brand new mouse.

The buttons on the M65 Pro are also fully customizable, allowing you to set macros, text strings, and more. While macros are generally frowned upon in competitive play due to the “one button, one action” rule, they’re a valid option for many games and general usage. Being able to rebind the keys to any CSGO action allows you to take quicker action when it counts without having to fumble around your keyboard for a distant keybind.

In addition to all of the software options that the Corsair M65 offers, the Corsair ecosystem offers unity across the board. If you’re happy with your new Corsair CS:GO gaming mouse and want to pick up another Corsair-branded device, such as one of their excellent keyboards, you can control the lighting, effects and keybindings across multiple devices – giving you a clean and unified performance and aesthetic.

While the software for the Corsair M65 is one of the best parts of owning this mouse, the device also manages to nail the basic necessities for high-end CS:GO play. With adjustable ratings up to 12000 DPI and a gaming grade sensor for pixel-precise tracking, you’ll be able to adjust your sensitivity dynamically to suit your in-game task.

The Corsair M65’s Aircraft-grade aluminum structure gives the mouse a lightweight while retaining durability and optimal mass distribution. Additionally, the surface calibration tuning utility allows you to optimize sensor precision and responsiveness for your playing surface, so no matter what kind of desk you play on, you’ll enjoy the same premium performance that this high-end Corsair model has to offer.

Also, The high-capacity Omron switches are rated for 20 million clicks, just like the Logitech model, which ensures your device will hold up spectacularly through even the most demanding play.

If you’re looking for a combination of high-end technology with best-in-class customizability and a great price (see lowest price), you can’t do much better than the Corsair MG6 Pro.

Our Top Pick: BenQ ZOWIE EC2-A

There are a wide variety of mice represented on this list. From lightweight mice with a honeycomb design to luxury models with all the bells and whistles, there’s bound to be a mouse on this list that will meet your needs while helping you take your CS:GO game to the next level. With that said, we feel that the ZOWIE EC2-A is the best option out there.EC2-A mouse left side

With the majority of mice getting more and more complicated, there are a bunch of features and clutter included that, while useful to many users, ultimately distract from the simple need for a mouse that just plain “works”. With the ZOWIE line, BenQ has brought their line back to basics, perfecting the DPI, sensors, and ergonomics of their mice in a premium package that doesn’t distract from the fact that the mouse is a means to an end: giving you the tools you need to execute your CS:GO plays flawlessly for a reasonable price. Also worth a mention is the FK2, which is a model with near identical specifications and the better option for those with a claw grip.

At the end of the day, there’s no one best answer to the best mouse for CS:GO. By taking a look at what’s important to you in the categories on this list and keeping in mind the important specifications discussed above, you can arrive at a mouse that will keep up with your gameplay and keep you excelling in competitive play for years to come.

What Makes A Good Gaming Mouse?

While we’ll give you a good sense as to what the best mice on the market are for climbing ranks in CS:GO, there are some specifications to consider when looking to purchase the gaming mouse that’s right for you. This list gives you the best of the best when it comes to this crucial piece of CS:GO equipment, but it helps to have an understanding of the mechanics behind mice so you can better evaluate a potential purchase moving forward.

DPI

DPI, or “Dots Per Inch”, is often hailed as chief determiner when it comes to deciding between different mice. With many mice advertising huge DPI numbers, it’s easy for gamers to expect that a higher rating means a better quality mouse. However, that idea is a bit of a misnomer.

DPI refers to the number of pixels a mouse cursor can move in a single inch of movement. This means that the higher the DPI, the bigger the distance you’ll see on screen as you move your mouse. A high DPI gives users the ability to snap their cursor across the display with a miniscule movement, but while that may seem convenient, it’s not a great choice for CS:GO. Although some mice feature a DPI in the tens of thousands, the fact remains that you should generally be looking for a DPI between 400 – 3200. The specific DPI you need for CS:GO will vary based on what you’re doing as well as personal preference, but that range should give you the flexibility you need to arrive at a setting that works for you.

Additionally, you should be looking for a mouse that allows you to toggle through the DPI settings. As a CS:GO player, you’ll find yourself using different guns across different matches. While a high DPI may be ideal for a quick response while using a close range assault rifle, it’s equally important to be able to dial the DPI down when you’re trying to track a target at range with a sniper rifle. Different situations call for different DPIs, and as a gamer seeking to climb as fast and as far as possible, outfitting yourself with adaptable peripherals is key.

Polling Rate

Another aspect related to mouse performance that is worth mentioning is polling rate. This metric essentially refers to the speed at which a mouse delivers a signal to the computer. The faster the rate, the faster the computer can interpret your inputs and provide a response. In a game like CS:GO where it’s important to be on top of your game and be able to respond in a fraction of a second, having the ability to have your mouse move as fast as your reaction time is essential.

It’s important to keep in mind however, that the higher the polling rate, the higher the load on your CPU. If your computer has trouble keeping up with the heavy demands of games and top-notch peripherals, you may be better off looking for a model that has a lower polling rate – or more ideally, an adjustable rate. Having the option to choose between different rates should give you the ability to arrive at a level that offers you the perfect combination of performance with the power demands that your CPU is capable of handling.

Design

The optimal mouse design for Counter-Strike is about more than simply looking cool. The best wired mouse with optimal DPI and switches won’t make much of a difference if you can’t comfortably use the mouse during the hours of grinding it will take to make it to Global Elite. It’s important to consider handedness as well as grip type when evaluating a mouse in order to make a purchase that will nest perfectly into the palm of your hand. Finding a mouse that works perfectly for your grip might be a bit of a challenge, so if you’re not sure of what you’re looking for, consider giving one of the ambidextrous models on our list a try while taking a look at user reviews regarding handedness. The majority of mice are optimized for a palm grip, although we do mention a great model for claw grippers below.

Switches

While the majority of technology in mice has advanced quite a long ways from the days of the rubber trackball, there’s one key aspect that remains mechanical: the switches. The sensors in mice have largely gone laser or optical, but every mouse still relies on a mechanical “switch” to facilitate button presses and send the correct commands to your computer.

The majority of gaming mice don’t list any specifications regarding their switches, and some elite gamers have actually taken to soldering in a custom switches themselves. It’s possible to climb to Global Elite without custom switches, however, as long as you choose a high-quality mouse that is built to last. All of the mice on this list should have a good shelf-life, but making sure you choose a peripheral with adequate staying power will help you avoid situations like double clicks or clicks not even registering – a disastrous occurrence when CS:GO requires split-second reactions.

Wired vs Wireless

The debate in the gaming community regarding wired vs wireless mice has been going on since wireless mice came onto the market, and it’s still a point of contention for many passionate gamers. While wired mice have a reputation for being more accurate and reliable, there have been major advancements in wireless technology that put some high-end models on par with their wired equivalents. Still, the fact remains that a wired mouse is generally going to be more reliable due to the ease of data transmission through a direct USB connection rather than over-the-air between the mouse and a dongle. With that said, it’s certainly possible to climb the ranks with a wireless mouse – just make sure you choose a model with superior specifications, such as one of the ones included on this list.

Sensor

Similar to the debate between Wired and Wireless mice, there has also been a good amount of discussion about whether laser or optical sensors are better. Despite what people might say one way or the other, the two technologies are pretty much equal. With that said, there are differences in quality within the group of laser and of optical sensors. A higher-end mouse will have better responsiveness and tracking, which can make all the difference when you’re trying to climb the ladder.

Finding The Best Mouse For League Of Legends – 2019 Buyer’s Guide

League of Legends is one of the largest e-sports titles in the world. With a game that popular and competitive, gamers are always looking for the latest and greatest when it comes to gaming equipment. From keyboards to mice, everything has to be able to handle the immense amount of clicking and pressing to survive a game that requires high precision and dexterity.

For us average gamers (on the way to pro), what’s the easiest way to up our game? Well, it’s to invest in a gaming mouse. But what should you look for and what should you buy before you take your first step into a gaming mouse?

Wired vs Wireless:

For years, the common perception was that wired mice often outperformed wireless mice because the direct connection from you mouse to your computer was often faster than with a Bluetooth receiver in the middle of the process. However, with recent advances in technology – a few outstanding wireless mice have emerged in the market that compete on the level of wired mice. However, be ready to pay a premium on the fact that it’s wireless.

DPI:

Also known as dots per inch, DPI is an important factor because it affects the sensitivity of your mouse. The higher the DPI, the less movement it takes for your cursor to travel a specific distance. Likewise, the lower the DPI – the harder it is to move your mouse. For a fast paced game like League of Legends, where high precision aiming is not required and long games can result in wrist injuries (i.e. Carpal Tunnel) a high DPI is preferred. Standard mice run at around 800 DPI, but gaming mice are flexible in that with a push of a button the DPI can jump from 800 to, as high as, 10,000 depending on the mouse.

Programmable Buttons:

MMORPGs aren’t the only types of games that take advantage of mouse buttons. Do you prefer locked screen when team fighting, but prefer unlocked screen any other time? Assign locking your screen to a button on your mouse! Say you’re playing a champion like Orianna, a very stable mid lane AP Carry who has been relevant in almost every meta, you could set a button to self-cast your shield during intense 1v1’s when you do not have time to move your mouse back to Orianna to self-cast her shield. This example applies to many champions who have skills that allow multi-targeting – not just Orianna. The more buttons, the merrier!

Design:

As stated before, highly intensive games like League of Legends can lead to wrist injuries when played in excess. Getting a mouse that was designed with ergonomics in mind can heavily reduce the strain on your wrist and increase comfort in your hand. This might be something you will need to test out in stores before you commit to a purchase, but it is definitely worth the extra effort.

Bonus Points – Adjustable Weight:

This is not by any means a requirement for a good gaming mouse, but players all have different preferences on how heavy their mice are. Some prefer hefty mice, while others prefer light ones. Getting a mouse with adjustable weights lets you set exactly how you prefer to play League of Legends (or really any game).

Our Recommendations:

With a basic understanding of what makes a good gaming mouse, especially for League of Legends – let’s get into our recommendations for the best gaming mouse to up your ELO on the rift!

BenQ Zowie EC2-B – Best Ergonomics

BenQ Zowie EC2-B

The Zowie EC2-B is a no-frills, plug and play type of mouse that excels in the ergonomics department.

The mouse comes in at a solid 98 grams – which is rather average for gaming mice. The mouse switches used in the EC2-B are Omron switches, which will last for an estimated 20 million clicks. The sensor is a very good 3360 – an improvement from the previous generation’s EC2-A. The DPI goes down to as low as 400 and as high as 3,200 in increments of 400. There are two buttons on the side that function out of game as back and forward buttons when browsing, but can be reprogrammed in game. The scroll wheel is on a 24 point click system, which can be either a pro or a con; the system allows for the scroll wheel to be a dependable button to reprogram in game, but at the same time it makes scrolling more difficult.

While it’s not as flashy as the RGB-dominant mice on the market – this will get you on the ground running fast.

Cougar Revenger S – Most Intriguing

Cougar Revenger S

Introducing a mouse with a name that most definitely does not do itself justice. This one comes in at a slightly heavier weight: 96 grams. It’s rocking a 3360 optical sensor, RGB LEDs, and the trusty Omron switches that have been tested for approximately 50 million clicks. The DPI ranges from 100 to 12,000. It includes rubberized grips on the sides to prevent your mouse from slipping when your hands get sweaty in those neck to neck base races.

The button layout is a standard gaming mouse with two thumb buttons. The scroll wheel is made for those who definitely prefer a stiffer click to prevent accidental slips. It should also be noted that the two thumb buttons can be mushy.

Something that makes the Cougar Revenger S stand out is the lift distance wizard that can be access in the software. There’s three profiles for lift distance – low, medium, high – that will let you adjust how high the threshold will be set before your cursor stops moving. While it is a highly appreciated setting, go into it with a healthy amount of skepticism because it will not be increasing the threshold by any mind-blowing amount: it’s meant to get the right feel for greater personal preference options.

The Cougar Revenger S honestly has a few marketing gimmicks that need serious testing to prove their validity. However, even without those gimmicks – it’s a comfortable, affordable (see lowest price), modular, and reliable mouse that people should give a chance to. Will it stand up to the big hitters? If you appreciate the possibilities that this price point offers, then give it a chance. You get a well-built mouse that potentially offers more than you expect if its gimmicks are proven to be more than just marketing.

Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum – Most Professional Grade

Want to play like Team Solomid? This mouse is used by the majority of the League of Legends team. At a very reasonable price (see lowest price), it’s a great ratio between price to performance.

As with all of Logitech’s up-to-date gear, you’ll be getting Omron switches – which are rated at approximately 20 million clicks, the 3366 optical sensor – which is best in its class, and RGB – because you can’t be an actual gaming mouse without RGB.Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

The DPI goes as low as 200 and all the way up to 12,000. Along with the normal back and forward side buttons – you also get a trigger button. The scroll wheel also acts as a button that can register up to three actions because of the three-directional clicking system. In total, you get 9 programmable buttons excluding the left and right click.

The G502 does come in quite a bit on the heavier side than other mice at 121 grams excluding the cable – and if you want it even heavier, Logitech provides five 3.6 gram weights that can be placed at various positions to shift the mouse’s center of mass to your liking. This heavy weight can be a deal breaker for many people as some are rather sensitive to the strain a heavier mouse will have on your wrist.

Logitech does the gaming mice industry proud and you’ll see it as you go through this list. The G502 inclusion is the first of the many times that I will be typing Logitech in this list.

Mionix Castor – The Underdog

The Mionix Caster mouse (check price) is running a respectable 3310 optical sensor, which is a great sensor that can hold its own – although, definitely not a 3366. It weighs in at a decent 94 grams without the cable, and is built with Omron switches. The Mionix Castor was made with ergonomics as a priority; and it really does show. The curves on the mouse – especially for your pinky and thumb are extremely comfortable. The material has a soft texture to it that is very smooth to the touch. Even the thumb area has an anti-slip textured area for your thumb to rest on and provide resistance when gaming.Mionix Castor

It has standard gaming mouse button configurations with the two thumb buttons. The scroll wheel is slightly difficult to press, although it will definitely prevent accidental clicks. A shining light on this mouse is its DPI settings; the Mionix Castor goes all the way down to a DPI of only 50 – a new low on this list – and up to a maximum of 10,000. What really takes the cake is that it goes up in increments of 50 DPI – allowing you to play League of Legends with a very refined choice.

Unfortunately, Mionix placed the Castor at a very difficult price point where many competitors are targeting. If your priorities are ergonomics and pinpoint DPI accuracy, then the Mionix Castor should definitely be a strong contender for your business – it all comes down to personal preference. For a smaller company to build a gaming mouse that can face off against the big market holders like Razer and Logitech, is no small feat.

Logitech G Pro – The Lightest

Logitech G ProThe bread and butter of the Logitech gaming mouse is the G Pro. This is as barebones as Logitech gaming mice go: it’s a standard Logitech mouse that sports Omron switches, a 3366 optical sensor, RGB LEDs, and two thumb buttons. The DPI range is Logitech’s standard of 200 to 12,000.

However, the Logitech G Pro comes in on the smaller and lighter side – at only 85 grams (excluding the wire), which makes it the lightest mouse on this list.

Left handed mice users will appreciate its symmetrical egg shape design, but expectations will fall short on the fact that the thumb switches are not modular. The G Pro functions very similarly to its brother – the G403 – and is approximately the same price. The main difference between the two is the shape of the mouse which all comes down to personal preference. Whichever mice you end up getting – be confident that your money was spent on top quality gear.

SteelSeries Rival 110 – Best Bang for Your Buck

SteelSeries makes some awesome mice. The Rival 110 is running a TrueMove 1 optical sensor, the little brother of the TrueMove 3 – with the only difference being a smaller DPI range. The Rival 110 goes as low as 200 DPI and as high as 7,400 DPI. While that falls far from the Rival 310, running a TrueMove 3 sensor, going above 4,000 DPI is practically unusable.

The mouse weighs in at a light 88 grams. It has a standard gaming mouse button layout with two side buttons on the side. Like the Rival series, the 110 is sporting Omron switches, but are graded for 30 million clicks instead of the higher quality 50 million clicks.SteelSeries Rival 110

The shape of the mouse is symmetric, which will appeal to all the left-handed gamers, although it does fall short in this department because the thumb switches are not modular. There are rubberized grips on the sides of the mouse which helps with the sweaty hands you get when you’re caught in a smite fight at baron – don’t want your mouse slipping out of your hand during that intense moment!

At a very low price point, SteelSeries claims the title of the cheapest mouse on this list. Thankfully, this mouse breaks the perception that a higher price equals higher performance. With a very affordable price, coupled with the high quality parts SteelSeries built the Rival 110 with (and RGB), it makes this mouse an eye-catching competitor in the gaming mouse market.

Razer Deathadder Elite – Oldie, but Goodie

One of the biggest gaming peripheral brands in the market, Razer makes a statement with the Deathadder Elite (see lowest price). Coming in at 106 grams, the Razer Deathadder Elite is on the heavier side, but at its rather large size – it is a respectable weight to come by.Razer Deathadder Elite

The Deathadder Elite is equipped with Razer’s switches that were developed in conjunction with Omron; they’re graded to last approximately 50 million clicks. Razer has opted to use the 5G Opitcal sensor which allows the mouse to go to a low of 100 DPI and a new high of 16,000 DPI (and I thought 12,000 was unreasonably high).

There is a nice silicone padding on the sides of the mouse to prevent finger slipping. The rest of its features are rather normal, sporting RGB LEDs, a clickable scroll wheel, and two thumb buttons on the side.

The Razer Deathadder series has been around since 2006 and with this iteration (that released to the market in 2016), they have maintained the great reputation that this mouse series has retained even as more and more competitors entered the gaming peripheral market.

Logitech G903 – Most Advanced

Let’s skip to one of the most obvious things when looking at this mouse – it’s wireless. That’s right – we said it: Wireless. The G903 (see lowest price) is equipt with Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED technology, which supposedly minimizes the latency to the point that it’s faster than some wired mice. While I can’t replicate the extensive testing that the LIGHTSPEED technology went through, I can say that there is no distinguishing the G903 against any wired mice.

In fact, with the PowerPlay mat, which wirelessly charges your mouse as well, it possibly makes this mouse the best wireless gaming mouse on the market in terms of performance and features. However, that being said, the price – especially with the expensive PowerPlay mat – will make your wallet cry a little bit.Logitech G903

A neat feature of this mouse is that it works for either left or right handed gamers; the reprogrammable back and forwards buttons are modular – allowing them to be placed on either side (or both, if you really want to).

The rest of this mouse is just as impressive – as expected by Logitech’s standards. Along with RGB LEDs, durable Omron switches, and the top-of-the-line 3366 optical sensor, the G903 also only comes in at 110 grams for a wireless mouse. The DPI range is Logitech’s standard of 200 to 12,000. This is one of the most technologically advanced mice out there.

However, if you need to save a bit of money and you are not in the market for the PowerPlay mat, then here’s a tip: get the G900. It’s cheaper and running the same exact internals as the G903, except for the fact that the G900 isn’t compatible with the PowerPlay mat.

SteelSeries Rival 310 – The Runner-Up

Introducing another Rival! The Rival 310 made by SteelSeries is a respectably light mouse at 88 grams, coming in second lightest – losing to the Logitech G Pro. The SteelSeries 310 is sporting Omron switches, similar to the Logitech mice, but with a key difference being that the Rival 310’s switches are graded for 50 million clicks versus the 20 million clicks of Logitech’s. SteelSeries has also opted to use the TrueMove 3 optical sensor in the Rival 310, which was developed in partnership with the makers of the 3366 optical sensor – Pixart. The TrueMove 3 sensor is marketed by SteelSeries as the most accurate sensor. While that may or may not be true, the sensor does reduce jitter up to 3,500 DPI, and it is a modified version of the 3360 optical sensor: a great sensor in its own right.

The mouse can be set from 100 DPI up to 12,000 DPI. Similar to the Razer Deathadder Elite, there is a nice silicone padding on the sides of the mouse to prevent finger slipping, and is sporting RGB LEDs, a clickable scroll wheel, and two thumb buttons on the side.SteelSeries Rival 310 side

As a competitor to Logitech’s domination of the gaming mouse industry, SteelSeries puts another great stamp on the market with a super light mouse that is equipt with more durable switches and a sensor that rivals the 3366. Their future looks bright if the Rival 310 is what the company is going after in terms of quality and performance.

Bonus Tip: Left-Handed Gamers, rejoice! The Rival 310’s sister – the Sensei 310 – is more or less the ambidextrous/left-handed version of this mouse.

Logitech G403 Prodigy – Editor’s Choice

We won’t beat around the bush for the Logitech G403: it is probably the best mouse on the market.

With that said, let us get into why since we have probably piqued your interest with such an early and bold statement. G403 Prodigy front

Like the other Logitech mice on this list, the G403 (see lowest price) is equipt with Omron switches, which will last you an estimated 20 million clicks. The G403 also has the standard two back and forwards buttons that you can reprogram in game. The scroll wheel isn’t heavy and is reliable enough to use it as third reprogrammable button, however it does not have side-clicking like the G502.

The sensor is also a 3366 optical sensor – the same one used in the G903 and one of the best in the market. The DPI range is Logitech’s standard of 200 to 12,000.

When it comes to performance, this is one of the mice where it is extremely hard to tell if there’s a difference in performance between the wired version versus the wireless version. If you want to get the wireless version, the premium you pay isn’t too high, which puts it at a – still – really good price.

Oh and did we mention it has RGB?

Sure, you could get a mouse with more features like the G903, which is also wireless and a fantastic mouse. But if you look at that price and compare it to all that value you get, it’s rather difficult to not love and recommend this mouse to everyone.

Closing Words:

As you see, getting a gaming mouse doesn’t have to be expensive – especially when the Logitech G403 exists. You can still get that top-quality gaming performance without breaking the bank.

But a little splurging now and then isn’t frowned upon – just think of it as investing in your wrist’s health: now that’s priceless. All jokes aside, by now you must be scouring Amazon for your pick of the litter, but before you press the check out button, keep in mind that this won’t make you go from Bronze 5 to Challenger instantly. And most definitely do not – and I repeat, do not – go in 1v5 when you’re playing Vayne because you think your new Logitech G903 is going to turn you into Doublelift. You’re still going to have to hone your craft before you take the title of “Best AD in the West”. Now remember: behind every challenger player is a trustworthy mouse.

See you on the rift, Summoners!

Overwatch has taken the gaming world by storm. From its release back in the summer of 2016, it has quickly racked up well over 30 million copies sold and continues to boast a high player base looking to compete at the highest level in this fast-paced first person shooter.

The barrier to entry with Overwatch is pretty low, as all you really need is a decent computer and a basic mouse and keyboard, but what if you want to truly take your game to the next level? Having quality peripherals is an important part of elevating your matches from that of an amateur to a pro, and we’ve collected some contenders for the best gaming mouse for Overwatch. With these new tools at your disposal, you’ll be able to capture the point in Oasis or escort the payload in Junkertown with ease.

Our Top 5 Gaming Mice For Overwatch – 2019 (Updated)

Because the “best” mouse is often a personal preference, we’ve listed some of the top Overwatch gaming mice around that will be sure to suit your needs in several different categories. They vary in terms of features and price, so choose which model you think will work best for you.

Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum – Best Overall Performer

The Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum has it all and is a very popular choice among pro Overwatch players.

Most notable among the features is the “on-the-fly” DPI shifting. As mentioned above, being able to adjust your mouse sensitivity at will in order to fit your current needs is a must in any sort of first person shooter — but doubly so with Overwatch, due to how many different weapon types you’ll find yourself with. Whether it’s a channeled lightning gun with Winston, a hitscan hero like Soldier 76, or a projectile character like Pharah, each necessitates different settings you can swap to in the heat of the moment to assure your aim is always on point.

The Advanced optical gaming sensor that tracks your mouse movement helps make sure your movements are registered correctly and gives you the confidence that your mouse will do what you intend it to each and every time.

Also worth mentioning are the included weights that can be moved around the body of the mouse at will in order to achieve optimal balance that suits your playstyle. Logitech also includes a unique program that allows you to program macros to the 11 customizable keys. While this may not be important in a first person shooter like Overwatch that only has a few different controls, the ability to rebind buttons to suit your needs is applicable across a number of different titles.

Add to these features the thousands of positive reviews on Amazon as well as a label as “Amazon’s Choice,” and it’s easy to see why the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum is one of our top picks for the best Overwatch gaming mouse.

EUASOO Z-7900 – Best Budget Buy

EUASOO Z-7900 Mouse

While the Overwatch Gaming mice that many professionals use can get seriously expensive, there’s no reason you have to break the bank to get a solid performer that will suit the needs of the average Overwatch gamer just fine. For a very affordable price (see lowest price), you can get a new mouse with similar features to the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum, giving you a low barrier of entry when it comes to upping your game.

Like the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum, the EUASOO Z-7900 includes a special switch that you can use to swap between DPI settings. There are also several included weights, although the ones included with this model aren’t quite as heavy as that of the Logitech; the mouse will be quite hefty with all of the weights added in, but if you’re looking for a truly heavy mouse you may have to drop a little more money.

The main difference between the EUASOO model and the more expensive Logitech is that the Z-7900 maxes out at 4000 DPI compared to a setting up to 12000 with Logitech. As mentioned above, however, higher DPI settings don’t always mean better, and the majority of pro gamers actually play with a relatively low setting.

The Z-7900 features 13 programmable buttons, and over 16 million LED color options. As far as the actual usage of the mouse goes, the EUASOO ships with high-quality, smooth TEFLON feet pads and contour body that provide the ultimate gaming control.

While some may be hesitant to purchase from a brand that they don’t recognize, rest assured that the mouse has a number of great reviews on Amazon. Plus, if it turns out you’re not happy with the purchase, you’ve only spent a small amount of money. Overall, the EUASOO Z-7900 comes highly recommended for those looking for optimal performance while on a budget.

Razer DeathAdder Chroma – Best Luxury Buy

This mouse is a little on the pricey side (see lowest price), but it’s also one of the most popular Overwatch mice around — and for good reason. The DeathAdder Chroma is one of Razer’s high-end products and the mouse should last for years with pretty regular use. If you buy a cheap mouse and really abuse it through a number of particularly stressful ranked games, you may end up spending more over time by replacing your mouse over and over. With the purchase of the DeathAdder Chroma, you’ll enjoy a high-end Overwatch mouse for years to come.

While the DeathAdder Chroma lacks the huge amount of buttons present on the previous models, the fact remains that you don’t really need those for Overwatch. With just a few bindings and many of them easily accessible on the keyboard by default, we feel that it’s better to prioritize the quality of the mouse itself.

One drawback to the DeathAdder Chroma is that it doesn’t include a DPI adjustment button by default. You can, however, use the sophisticated Razer Synapse program to bind one of the two side buttons to adjust DPI on the fly. By binding one button to DPI up and the other to DPI down, you’ll be able to quickly cycle through a range of sensitivities to find the setting that you need for that killer headshot.

Razer Synapse also includes a sophisticated mapping program that lets you review your mouse movements and analyze them to better understand where you can improve. The actual utility of this particular feature is questionable, but it is a cool perk to have and adds to the high-tech feel of the DeathAdder Chroma.

A rather unique feature that might be useful for those who require their mouse to respond to the slightest movement is the Z-axis tracking. Basically, DeathAdder Chroma has the ability to stop tracking when you move the mouse even just 1 mm above the mousepad, giving you the precision you need to control your mouse exactly as you please.

Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum – Best Wireless Mouse

The gaming community is generally very opinionated when it comes to the topic of wireless mice. While having a wireless mouse is convenient, they’ve previously suffered from reliability issues and can quickly turn an Overwatch match sour if you happen to disconnect in the middle of an important fight. If you’re willing to drop a little extra money (see lowest price), however, you can enjoy the premium performance of the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum that allows you to seamlessly transition between a wired and wireless setup.

While you won’t often have your mouse die with the 32 hour battery life, it’s nice to have the option to quickly get back up to speed and assist the rest of your team rather than ending up (literally) dead weight. Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum

The wireless mode is also just as reliable in terms of performance when compared to the wired mode, using Logitech’s advanced high-definition optical sensor for accurate tracking that will match your movements seamlessly.

Logitech Gaming Software is similar to the Razer Synapse in that it allows you to customize pretty much anything about your new mouse. Bind any of the 11 keys to suit your needs, adjust DPI settings across different profiles, and even control your favorite tunes with media keys while fighting off attackers on Numbani.

Overall, the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum is a top-of-the-line model that will make you rethink the philosophy that wireless mice are somehow inferior.

ROCCAT Kova – Best For Lefties

While the right-handed among us generally have our pick when it comes to the best Overwatch gaming mouse, Left-handed gamers are often pushed to the wayside due to the fact that they aren’t as large of a market. There are, however, several options for Lefties that will keep them on a level playing field when it comes to playing Overwatch like a pro – one of which is the ROCCAT Kova Pure Performance Gaming Mouse.

The most interesting thing about the ROCCAT Kova outside of the ability to be used equally well by left-handed gamer is the unique “Smart Cast” button layout. This design allows the left and right mouse button to play double duty, affording you more flexibility when in a fast-paced competitive Overwatch match.

ROCCAT Kova

While the majority of high-end gaming mice provide some sort of programming software, the ROCCAT stands out from the crowd with the Swarm smartphone app that allows you to adjust settings without having to tab out of the game. It’s a unique feature that allows you to keep the game going without missing a beat. ROCCAT models remain some of the most customizable devices overall, and while you may not actually need the majority of the features in your average game, the fact that the option is there is a nice added touch.

The ROCCAT Kova is also priced quite affordably. While perhaps not as inexpensive as the cheapest device on our list, you can enjoy peak performance for a great price (see lowest price) regardless of your handedness.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Logitech G900 listed above has an ambidextrous option, giving lefties the option of 2 out of the 5 devices listed in our roundup of the best mice for Overwatch.

While the mice on this list all vary somewhat in what they have to offer, you’ll likely be more than pleased regardless of your choice. Whether you’re looking to brush up on your Widowmaker skills or need a rapid response for hectic Tracer gameplay, the settings on these peripherals should give you the tools you need to succeed.

What To Look For In An Overwatch Gaming Mouse?

While we do go into detail on some specific mice that we recommend to take your Overwatch games to the next level, there are some general guidelines to keep in mind when evaluating a gaming mouse specifically for Overwatch.

DPI Adjustments

DPI, or Dots per Inch, is a mouse measurement that basically determines how far your mouse cursor will move with a specific amount of movement. For example, if you have a mouse with 1600 DPI, a movement of one inch will move your cursor 1600 pixels. For many people, the optimal DPI setting is going to be personal preference. While some people tend to view higher DPI as preferable, the truth is that a low DPI setting is often your best bet when trying to line up difficult shots — such as when picking out that perfect headshot with Widowmaker, for example.

The best gaming mice will have at least one button that will allow you to adjust DPI on the fly. You’ll be able to quickly transition between a general usage setting when you’re playing a character like Winston to a setting optimized for snipers like Widowmaker and Hanzo. The hallmark of a good gaming mouse for Overwatch is customizability, given the vast variety of characters you’ll be playing over the course of a few matches.

Customizability

As mentioned above, the perfect Overwatch mouse is going to have features that allow you to adjust your gaming equipment to suit your needs. Considerations like the ability to add and remove weight from your mouse, swap out different grips to better suit the shape of your hand, and even bells and whistles like lighting options may make your mouse feel right and get you ready to settle in for a few hours of climbing the ranks in Competitive mode.

Integration

While not necessarily as important as the other considerations, integration with the rest of your devices is something to keep in mind. Ecosystems like Razer and Corsair often have devices that communicate with each other or run off of the same software. Coordinating settings using computer software and making sure your equipment matches may be important to some users, as sometimes it helps to look the part as you work to achieve that pro-level play.
